Paul E Carnell

Paul is a marine and freshwater scientist in Deakin University’s Blue Carbon Lab. Paul studied at the University of Melbourne for both his undergraduate and PhD, working with Professor Mick Keough. Since finishing his PhD, Paul has worked for Parks Victoria and been at Deakin for the last 5 years. Paul’s research career has a focus on environmental science that sits at the interface between research and science-based management of ecosystems. From further developing the science to offset carbon emissions through wetland restoration and protection, to the management of resilient reefs along Victoria’s coast.
