27.9.16: Uncle Neville Whyman, Aunty Esther Kirby, Dixie Patten and Daniel Patten – Barapa Barapa Traditional Owners and part of the award winning Barapa Water for Country project, delivered in partnership with North Central Catchment management Authority. Robyn McKay is the project officer working on the project, which aims to identify, map and record the cultural values of the Lower Gunbower Forest to improve the management of environmental water. Through two way cross cultural and intergenerational knowledge sharing on Country, information has been collected so that the cultural and spiritual values may be incorporated into environmental watering plans and Barapa Barapa Traditional Owner's voices can be heard in the water management of Gunbower Forest.
